Here in Galacia, they have distance markers every 500 meters with the distance to Santiago. They had similar markers back in La Rioja, but seeing 578 km to go is not as motivating as seeing 70 km to Santiago.

There was some fog in the morning, but otherwise we had great walking weather – high of 84. There are more hills and villages than the Meseta, and the path is much more crowded here as well. Still, I made good time and was off the road by 2:30 PM.

I finished David Copperfield today as well. I enjoyed it and now want to read more on which parts were autobiographical. I’m still planning on “Go Set a Watchman” for next week.

Not much else to report for now. I’m still meeting a bunch of new people and having a blast. Tomorrow is a shorter day, and Sunday is the big one!
